SELF
CONTAINED, SELF-COOLING CAN SET TO
REVOLUTIONIZE BEVERAGE INDUSTRY
Bradenton,
Florida -- Tempra Technology, developer of a proprietary,
patented self-refrigerating technology, announced today
that it has entered into a collaborative agreement with
Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc. (NYSE & Paris Bourse:
CCK), the world's leading packaging company, to produce
a self-refrigerating beverage can. Working together,
the two companies have successfully produced what they
believe to be the world's first working model for a
commercially viable self-refrigerating can.
The
portable, self-refrigerating beverage can will enable
consumers of any canned beverage to enjoy ice cold
drinks at any time or place. Tempra's proprietary
self-refrigerating technology is self-contained and
requires no external power or refrigerating source.
The can is non-toxic, discharges no gases, is completely
recyclable and is capable of cooling the beverage
by 30°F in only three
minutes.
Under
the terms of the agreement, Tempra will complete the
development and commercialization of this novel beverage
container, which Crown will manufacture and market under
an exclusive license.
Tempra
and Crown have already begun discussions with a number
of leading beverage companies to enlist their participation
in the commercialization and marketing of this self-refrigerating
can. The companies are currently soliciting interest
from top beer and soft drink beverage companies globally
as they introduce this cutting-edge technology.
